The West Virginia Insurance Guaranty Association (WVIGA) is a non-profit association of insurance companies that sell property and liability insurance in West Virginia. It was created by West Virginia law to provide some level of protection for certain policyholders and claimants against the insolvency of an insurance company licensed to sell those types of policies in West Virginia when the company is placed into liquidation.
